Marathoner, magazine writer, and Portlander Sarah Bowen Shea is the co-author of Run Like a Mother: How to Get Moving and Not Lose Your Family, Job, or Sanity. The essays in Run Like a Mother mimic the lively conversations good friends have when they're out on a run: a mix of personal stories; hard-won, helpful advice; and crack-you-up anecdotes that cement a connection that goes well beyond the miles logged that day. Come hear Sarah read from the book, ask her questions, and buy an autographed copy of the book and a limited-edition Run Like a Mother tee. Can't make the reading? Billy was a friend. He possessed the most inspiring and graceful running form that I have ever witnessed.

If you knew Billy personally as I did, you would have also realized his humanity. That talent he had as a man sticks out more vividly than his athletics, but I have to say again, he was the most beautiful runner I have ever seen.
