Former World and American Record Holder Mark Nenow speaking at the Eugene Running Company Saturday, October 2nd at 9am
Background: In the 1984 Crescent City Classic Road Race, Mark Nenow stunned the running world with his 10K World Record run of 27:22. He maintained a pace faster than 4:25 per mile.
Two years later on the track in Brussels, Belgium, he broke Alberto Salazar’s American Record for 10,000m. Nenow’s record stood for 15 years until Meb Keflezighi surpassed his time.
Mark Nenow started his running career at Anoka High School in Minneapolis. He competed collegiately at University of Kentucky. During the peak of his athletic career he was a proud member of the Todd’s Road Stumblers running club. Mark has a long and distinguished professional career in running shoe manufacturing, design and development. He currently heads up Montrail’s running shoe innovation and development.
