Team XO
Team XO was founded and created by former University of Oregon Track and Field athletes. The team is comprised of primarily post collegiate athletes that train in the state of Oregon or graduated from the University of Oregon . Team XO has been created for elite post collegiate track & field / Cross Country athletes looking to continue their athletic career, while competing at the highest possible level. Although creation remains in the early stages, the vision is clear. We look to provide a home and unified team atmosphere where driven, elite athletes can work together to achieve success both individually and as a team.
Off the track and trail, we try and extend our vision of the way we feel our sport should be. We host an elite team high school track meet at Hayward Field called the XO Invite, direct and coach a fun low cost athletic kid's camp call the XO Athletic Camp, and volunteer over a hundred hours a year in our community.

Oregon Track Club
For close to half a century the Oregon Track Club has been the quiet force behind Eugene’s image as the “Track Capital.” From all-comers’ meets to Olympic Trials, the Eugene-based club has been instrumental in promoting track and field and running for all facets of the community.
In the spring of 1949, Bill Bowerman, the newly appointed track coach at the University of Oregon, decided something needed to be done to stimulate interest in track and field during the summer months, so he staged an all-comers meet for grade school athletes. Fifteen people showed up.
The next summer he held an all-comers meet for high school seniors and college-age athletes. Twenty people showed up. With help from the Eugene Active Club, the meets became a regular fixture at what was then a cinder practice track immediately west of Hayward Field.
By 1958, Bowerman and others (including Ray Hendrickson and Bob Newland) who’d been active promoting a variety of track meets in Eugene, had formed the Emerald Empire Athletic Association.

Oregon Track Club Masters
OTC Masters is both a part of Oregon Track Club and a separate entity with its own officers, meetings and events. Formed after Bill McChesney, Sr. and Lew Thorne called an organizational meeting on the UO campus in 1981, OTCM has been a positive force in local and national Masters ever since. The Hayward Classic, presented each year since the club’s formation, brings together age 30 and over Masters athletes from all corners of the U.S. and even other countries.
