    With Anna Heinz Saturdays at 7:00 am Eugene Running Company Portland MarathonTeam
    We invite you to join Coach Anna Heintz and the Eugene Running Company’s 2010 Portland Marathon/ Half Marathon Team as we prepare for the Portland Marathon held this year on October 10. The group will also build up to the inaugural Eugene Women’s Half Marathon on September 5th. This Team is for beginners and advanced marathoners/ half-marathoners. Group members enjoy the support and motivation of being part of a marathon team. Throughout the 18-week program, members will receive a training schedule, expert coaching advice and guidance, group long runs with aid stations, and a newly added feature this year: the option of a more advanced/performance-oriented training program for those looking to improve their overall performance. Participants also receive free team uniform shirts and 10% store discounts. Anna Heintz is an experienced marathon coach who has been coaching marathoners since 2007 in both Wisconsin and Oregon. She has run five self-coached marathons and two half marathons, qualifying for the Boston Marathon four times and the New York City Marathon twice. She currently coaches the Eugene Running Company’s Beginners’ Running Group as well as the Thursday Performance Group. This fall she will be teaching the Jog/Run PE class at the University of Oregon. The group meets at the Eugene Running Company every Saturday at 7:00 AM starting June 12th. Cost is $100.


    Portland Marathon and Royal Vicoria Full and Half Marathon Training Group
    With Keith McConnell Portland Marathon and Royal Vicoria Full and Half Marathon Training Group
    Prepare to run or walk:  Women’s Half Marathon (9/5), Portland Full Marathon (10/10) or Royal Victoria Half or Full Marathon (10/10).
      Keith McConnell’s program is unique. It provides a structure for participants to clarify goals; it offers a clear plan of gradual progress toward those goals; it provides professional coaching including input, observation and feedback grounded in the energy efficient and injury free ChiWalking model; and it provides the cohesion, caring and motivation of a strong support group of fellow walkers and a fully committed team leader. Groups begin meeting Sunday, 6/13: walkers - 8:30 a.m.; runners - 9 a.m. All levels of runner or walker from new to experienced are welcome. As part of your training program, you will learn ChiRunning or ChiWalking, energy efficient, effortless and injury-free approaches to running and walking. Add in group support, individual coaching feedback, and a personal journal and you will have an exciting and comprehensive recipe for success. Meetings and Cost:
    1. Women’s Half: 11 sessions (Keith present for 8) plus optional session before Butte to Butte (10K, 7/4); Total group fee is $75.
    2. Portland and Royal Victoria, Half & Full: 15 sessions (Keith present for 12) plus optional session before Butte to Butte (10K, 7/4); Total group fee is $100.

    Joe Henderson's Marathon Team
    Saturday 7:30 am Joe Henderson's Marathon Team
    Joe's team will be training for the Royal Victoria (October 10th) with an intermediate stop at the Coburg Half (July 18th). This team is open
    to all, returnees and newbies alike, and is first-come/first-served
    until or unless we fill to the standard limit of 40. Training will
    begin on June 12th, six weeks after the Eugene Marathon. The fee is
    $100. 

     

    Joe  has written more than two dozen books on running and is the creative founder of Runner's World magazine. His work has guided runners worldwide through two running booms. He publishes his weekly Running Commentary at www.joehenderson.com\" target="_blank">www.joehenderson.com and his writing appears monthly in Marathon & Beyond magazine. Joe has been inducted into the Road Runner's Club of America Hall of Fame and has been honored three times by that organization for his literary contributions. Joe was a highly accomplished runner in his youth and was the Iowa State High School Champion in the mile.
